Hi! I am a Chinese-Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. My practice uses installation and performance, with a strong emphasis on interactivity, to examine systemic alienation under neoliberal capitalism and to explore new possibilities for human connection and collective experience.
I am interested in how social relations become abstract and commodified, and how this shapes the way people relate to one another. Many of my works create temporary participatory environments that function like small communities or “micro-utopias,” where participants can interact outside of everyday capitalist logic. I often treat these works as “social experiments,” stepping back from the role of sole author and allowing participants’ actions to shape the outcome.
I integrate objects, projections, images, videos, text, performances, and interactive elements into my works.
